    • Have been distributed with meeting notices to RSTNA members; are there any corrections?

Reports by Committee Chairpersons

Appreciation for Committee Chairpersons and Committee Members (Bill)

Reports on accomplishments and plans for 2026 did not get covered. Instead the meeting moved directly to the presentation.

Guests from City Government
  • Express appreciation for the District 10 Staff Members.
  • Introduce Gema Escorcia, Executive Assistant for George Casey.

Gema highlighted the next Dumpster Day which happens in the Comanche neighborhood on March 14th. And the CERT Fun Run at Almaden Lake Park on March 28th.

The next Dumpster Day for the RSTNA is on September 26th.

VTA Safe-Parking and Other Matters

Introduce the program - Presentation on VTA Safe Parking Site and other matters in South San Jose

Share guidelines for the presentation

Introduce the speakers:

  • Issa Ajlouny (President of the Community Advisory Committee CAC for Santa Teresa VTA Safe Parking; President of SAFER San Jose)
  • Pascal Garcia (Program Director of Life Moves; Manager of the VTA Safe Parking Site)

Pascal Garcia spoke first and gave us a presentation on the site and the metrics. He will share his slides with RSTNA on a later date.

Issa Ajlouny reported movement on issues with homeless people in other contexts and was rather impressed with the work of Pascal Garcia at the site.

Questions

Some neighbors had run ins with homeless people and were looking for solutions outside of the police.

David Heindel from D10 congratulated RSTNA to a successful start at being a neighborhood association.

Issa Ajlouny introduced Rebecca Munson who is running for County Supervisor of District 1.

Closing Comments

The next General Meeting is planned for October 15 at 7:00 pm at the library

Encourage you to talk to me about joining the Leadership Team and/or Committee Chairs about volunteering

Ellen pointed out the open Community Action Chair position.
