Business Meeting
  • Minutes (5/31/2025) (Bill)
    • Have been distributed; are there any corrections? None.
    • Motion and Second for approval (Michael and Keith).
    • Minutes approved.
  • Election of Officers (Keith Swenson)
    • Mike Bryant nominated the slate of officers (Pres: Bill Wolf; Vice Pres: Pat Ota; Sec/Treas: Ute Orgassa).
    • Other nominations? None.
    • Election of Officers: Slate of officers elected.
  • Time for future meetings - 7:00 pm or 7:30 pm? (Bill) 7 pm has the majority.

Reports by Committee Chairpersons

Appreciation for Committee Chairpersons and Committee Members (Bill)

  • Community Building and Beautification (Joyce Collier)
    • National Night Out done by community building
  • Safety - Crime & Neighborhood Watch (Raul Lopez)
    • Raul not in attendance.
    • Mike Bryant described the recent neighborhood watch meetings.
    • Neighborhood watch meeting for Purple Glen will be held.
  • Safety - Emergency Preparedness (Mike Bryant)
    • CERT overview presented by Mike.
  • Communications (Liyong Cheng & Ute Orgassa)
    • Two leaders with different talents.
    • We support the other committees to get the word out and make contacts with county and city officials.
    • Help get people connected.
    • Would like to set up a Discord.
  • Community Action (Keith Swenson)
    • We can work together to see what the city and the county are doing that impacts our neighborhood.
    • Working as a group is better than individual efforts.
  • The Leadership Team expressed their appreciation for Ellen's work and said she is awesome!

  • Alex Dersch, Community Relations Coordinator for George Casey, introduced himself and said he was open to talking with meeting participants.

Earthquake Preparedness
  • Bill introduced Mike Bryant of the Leadership Team
  • Mike Bryant introduced the Speaker, Jay McAmis
  • Jay McAmis, Deputy Director of Office of Emergency Management
    • Gave a presentation on Earthquake Preparedness
    • Responded to questions
    • Handed out preparedness materials to meeting participants
